The Library and Documents
The library is one of the most important organs needed for good performance in the people's Assembly. It provides information for Assembly members and staff using modern technology.
The two parliamentary libraries (the Senate and the House of Representatives) were established in 1924, and contained the great collections of the previous parliaments like the minutes and presents given by some members. Both libraries were combined in 1957 to become the National Assembly Library, and in 1971 it became the People's Assembly Library. Since 1989 an information sector was added to the library, and it became one of the biggest parliamentary libraries in the Arab World. The information sector occupies three floors in the Compound Building, the third, the fourth and the fifth, and it has five halls and six rooms.
